Sorry, I can’t help but comment here. The United States of America is a great country. One of the things that makes it so great is the freedoms we have as a people. One of those freedoms is freedom of speech. I grew up in the 60’s and did my tour of duty in the military during the Vietnam War. Go back and look at the pictures from that period and tell me that our soldiers didn’t make some real strong political statements. All of a sudden, that’s against the rules and the Marine Corps (who I have great respect for normally) steps in and says their going to kick the guy out for his comments concerning President Barack Hussein Obama. Come on, give me a break. This ought to be unconstitutional, and I’m guessing it is. Doesn’t he have a right to express his opinion as long as he does his job and follows legal orders from his commanders? I think so.

President Obama has shown repeatedly that he has no respect for the United States Constitution. If the truth were known, he’s probably not eligible to be President of the United States because of his birth circumstance, but we’ll never get the truth on this matter. Anyway as I was saying, look at the decisions he’s made over the past several months. He has no respect for the U.S. Constitution, and it’s very clear in the decisions he’s made. What makes it worse is that our Senate and House of Representatives have refused to call him on his actions.

Before you label me some right wing liberal, I’ll tell you that’s not true. I am conservative, no question about it. I recognize that our country has been ushered down the road to 2nd class by a small minority of liberals who don’t mind being rude and obnoxious. I was brought up differently. I’m just tired of all the politics. Our founding fathers recognized the danger of political parties, but we’ve failed to listen to them. Now our country’s “leaders” can’t make a decision on what’s good for the country, it’s what’s best for them personally, for their donors, and for the special interest groups they lobby to get reelected. Let’s get back to basics folks. Let’s elect people who want to do right by our country, not line their pockets.

And get vocal about Marine Corp. Sgt. Gary Stein, who seems to have been robbed of his freedom of speech. Today it’s him, tomorrow it may be you. Think about it.

Utilizing the reports issued by the NLRB, the links below provide extensive information regarding union elections conducted (or in one case petitions filed) through June 2010. The links download powerpoint slides containing the various pieces of information. I have tried to describe the contents fo each slide so you won’t waste time opening slides that contain information you have no interest in viewing.

UNION vs COMPANY WINS: This slide is a bar-chart summary of all elections held for each of the first six months of 2010, showing a comparison of union wins versus company wins. CLICK HERE to download.

DECERTIFICATION ELECTIONS held in 2009 vs those held in 2010 are somewhat interesting. This slide contains a bar-chart comparison for decertification elections in each of the first six months for 2009 & 2010. This slide does not provide detail on who won the election. Interesting to note that decertification elections were not only down in 2010, but union wins in decertification elections were also down during the first six months of the year. CLICK HERE to download.

2010 DECERTIFICATION ELECTION DETAIL: This slide provides the detail lacking in #2 above for the first six months of 2010. It is a bar-chart providing win-loss results in decertification elections during each of the first six months of 2010. CLICK HERE to download.

ELECTION BY INDUSTRY SEGMENT: This slide provides a breakdown of the number of union elections held by various industry segments during the first six months of 2010. CLICK HERE to download.

MOST ACTIVE UNIONS: This slide gives a view of the most active unions in terms of the number of elections held during the first six months of 2010. CLICK HERE to download.

MOST ACTIVE STATES: This slide gives a view of the states where union activity occurred during the first six months of 2010. It does not give a win/loss decision, nor is it a complete listing, but gives those states with the most elections plus some with the least. CLICK HERE to download.

WINS BY UNIT SIZE: This last slide shows a breakdown of elections won by unions through elections held in the first six months of 2010, and broken down by the number of employees in the unit size represented subject to the election. Interesting note, elections held in units of 500 or more persons showed the highest level of success by the union. CLICK HERE to download.
