Just What is PML?
We could give you a point-by-point description, but then we’d give away what makes PML special. Let’s just say it’s a development program for managers and supervisors, at all levels of the organization, that emphasizes the need for better communication with the workforce, better listening skills by management, and a more focused approach to dealing with employee relations issues as they arise in the workplace. The format of the program is what we describe as an “experiential” workshop, where participants learn by “doing”, not by seeing and hearing someone elses philosophy.
The newly elected U.S. Congress and President have a huge number of debts to repay following the 2008 elections. Many of those debts will be repayed with favorable legislation for campaign supporters. Organized labor may be the biggest winner. As employers, you will have to worry about things like:
Plus, our new President will soon be installing three new members to the five-member National Labor Relations Board, making it an unstoppable proponent for union organizing.
Although we stop short of selling PML as a “union avoidance” workshop, the skills and lessons we teach are invaluable in developing your management team into leaders that your employees will follow. The Bible teaches that you can’t serve two masters, and at PML we believe that is true in the context of employment. If employees are following their manager they can’t follow the union organizer.
But PML is more than that, approximately 20% of our clients come out of union shops. What this tells you is that PML’s lessons are about leadership and making your company more effective and profitable through a committed, engaged workforce.
